In the midst of the political turmoil in Haryana, Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) leader Dushyant Chautala has written to the Governor, seeking an immediate floor test to determine the majority in the state assembly. The crisis unfolded when three Independent MLAs withdrew their support from the Saini government, leaving it in a minority position.

Haryana in Turmoil: BJP Government Loses Majority

The withdrawal of support from the three Independent MLAs has put the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in Haryana in a precarious position. Former Deputy Chief Minister and JJP leader Dushyant Chautala expressed his concerns in a letter to the Governor, stating that the BJP government no longer commands a majority in the state assembly. This has prompted calls for a floor test to ascertain the current political landscape in Haryana.

JJP’s Stand and Congress’ Response

In response to the crisis, the JJP has indicated its willingness to support the Congress in bringing down the BJP government. However, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini remains confident, stating that his government is not in trouble. On the other hand, Congress candidate Deepender Singh Hooda has strongly criticized the current government, stating that it is now a minority and should resign immediately.

Congress Calls for Resignation

Deepender Singh Hooda emphasized that a minority government has no moral right to continue in power. He urged the government to resign on moral grounds and suggested that if they refuse to do so, the Governor should consider imposing President’s rule in Haryana. Hooda also took a dig at the JJP, labeling them as a “betrayal party” for their wavering support.

Way Forward

The political crisis in Haryana remains unresolved as both the ruling BJP government and the opposition Congress take their stands. The demand for a floor test and calls for resignation indicate the high stakes involved in the current situation. It remains to be seen how the Governor and other relevant authorities will address the crisis and ensure stability in the state.
In conclusion, the political landscape in Haryana is currently in flux, with the BJP government facing challenges to its majority. The actions of key players like Dushyant Chautala, Nayab Singh Saini, and Deepender Singh Hooda will determine the course of events in the coming days. The fate of the government hangs in the balance, and all eyes are on the developments unfolding in the state assembly.
