In a decisive operation, the Indian Army successfully foiled an infiltration attempt by terrorists along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday, resulting in the elimination of two militants, according to official sources.
The operation, conducted based on specific intelligence inputs, involved a joint effort by the Indian Army and the Jammu and Kashmir Police in the general area of Amrohi, Tangdhar, and Kupwara on May 15, 2024, as announced on the official social media handle of the army’s Chinar Corps.
As the search operation unfolded, security forces recovered two pistols, ammunition, and other war-like stores, indicating the nefarious intentions of the infiltrating militants.
The situation remains fluid, with search operations ongoing in the area at the time of this report. Further updates regarding the operation are awaited.
This recent operation comes shortly after the successful conclusion of ‘Operation Redwani Payeen’ on May 9, where the army neutralized three terrorists following an extensive 40-hour vigil. The operation was launched in response to the ambush of an Indian Air Force vehicle, which tragically resulted in the loss of a senior Air Force officer’s life.
Sharing details of the operation, the army’s Chinar Corps reiterated its commitment to upholding peace and tranquility in the Kashmir region. The successful thwarting of infiltration attempts and elimination of terrorists underscore the Indian Army’s unwavering resolve in combating threats to national security and safeguarding the integrity of the nation.
