Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to file his nomination from the Varanasi constituency in Uttar Pradesh for the Lok Sabha election 2024. The nomination filing, scheduled for Tuesday, May 14, holds significant astrological importance, with Modi choosing an auspicious time between 11:40 am and 12 noon.
Before proceeding with the nomination, Modi commenced the day by offering prayers at the Dashwamedh Ghat, a revered site along the banks of the Ganges River. The timing of the nomination filing holds astrological significance due to the coincidence of Pushya Nakshatra with Ganga Saptami on May 14. Astrologers, including Pandit Rishi Dwivedi, highlight the auspiciousness of this combination, suggesting that any task undertaken during Pushya Nakshatra is believed to lead to the fulfillment of one’s desires.
Following the prayers, Modi is scheduled to visit the Baba Kaal Bhairav temple to seek blessings before collecting the nomination papers. The nomination filing ceremony in Varanasi will be followed by a meeting with party workers and ministers, emphasizing the political importance of the event.
Expressing his deep connection with Varanasi, Modi took to social media platform X, stating, “My relationship with my Kashi is amazing, inseparable and incomparable.” This sentiment reflects the emotional bond Modi shares with the constituency, known for its historical and cultural significance.
The nomination filing comes on the heels of a grand roadshow held by Modi in Varanasi on Monday evening, covering a six-kilometer stretch. Accompanied by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and BJP state president Chaudhary Bhupendra Singh, Modi’s roadshow garnered significant attention and support from party members and the public alike.
Varanasi, a stronghold for the BJP and Modi, is slated to go to polls on June 1, marking the seventh and final phase of the Lok Sabha election 2024. As Modi embarks on this crucial step in his electoral journey, the anticipation and enthusiasm among supporters are palpable, underlining the significance of Varanasi in India’s political landscape.
