New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Monday claimed that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is receiving death threats. The party alleged that Kejriwal is being publicly threatened with death, with AAP leader Sanjay Singh accusing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of “plotting to launch a deadly attack on Arvind Kejriwal.”
On its official X handle, the AAP stated, “Threats are being openly made everywhere, and threats of attacks are being written at Metro stations. Threats are written at Rajiv Chowk, Patel Nagar Metro Station at the behest of PMO, BJP, and Narendra Modi.”
The party further asserted, “If anything happens to Arvind Kejriwal, then BJP and Narendra Modi will be directly responsible for it.”
In a press conference, AAP’s Sanjay Singh said, “BJP is rattled and desperate to remove Kejriwal. Since Arvind Kejriwal came out of jail, there have been continuous attempts to harm him. BJP is ready to launch attacks in which his life could be at risk. BJP has tried to attack Arvind Kejriwal several times, and this is not the first time. Today, threats are being openly made everywhere, and threats of attacks are being written at Metro stations. And my direct accusation is that BJP is behind this, and it is being orchestrated by the PMO and the Prime Minister of the country.”
Meanwhile, AAP leader Atishi raised concerns about the security measures, stating, “All these metro stations (Rajiv Chowk, Patel Chowk) are under complete surveillance of CCTV cameras. Police and CISF security personnel are present here 24 hours a day. Despite this, a person wrote a threat note here and left and now no one is looking for him. This person has also posted all the threats on his social media account. Now where are the Delhi Police and their cyber cell? The Chief Minister is being openly threatened and no action is being taken. This same Delhi Police became super active on the fake allegations of Swati Maliwal and now is not doing anything.”
The AAP has shared images of the threats, demanding immediate action from law enforcement agencies to ensure Kejriwal’s safety and to investigate the source of these threats.
