New Delhi: In a tragic accident late Sunday evening, 13 people lost their lives and several others were injured when a tractor-trolley overturned in Rajgarh, Madhya Pradesh. The incident has left the community in shock and grief.
Details of the Accident:
The accident occurred near Piplodi in Rajgarh district, around 9 PM. The victims were from Motipura Village in Rajasthan’s Jhalawar district and were traveling to Kulampura Village in Rajgarh to attend a wedding function. The tractor-trolley, carrying about 35 people, suddenly went out of control and overturned as it entered Rajgarh.

Casualties and Injuries:
Among the 13 deceased were four children, five men, and four women. The injured were immediately rushed to hospitals, with four critically injured individuals referred to Bhopal for advanced treatment, while 15 others are receiving care at Rajgarh District Hospital.
Rescue Operations:
Passersby and nearby villagers initiated rescue efforts upon hearing the screams. Police and health department teams quickly arrived at the scene, and more than seven ambulances were dispatched to transport the injured and deceased to the hospital.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav expressed his deep sorrow over the incident. He assured that the state government is working closely with the Rajasthan government and police to handle the situation.
In his message on social media platform X, CM Yadav stated:
“The news of the untimely death of 13 people of Jhalawar district of Rajasthan due to the overturning of a tractor-trolley on Piplodi Road in Rajgarh district is unfortunate. Cabinet colleague Mr. @bjpnspbiaoraji along with the Collector and SP Rajgarh are present on the spot. We are in touch with the Rajasthan government, and Rajasthan police have also reached the spot. The treatment of the injured is going on in the District Hospital, Rajgarh, and some seriously injured patients have been referred to Bhopal. I pray to Baba Mahakal to grant the souls of the deceased a place in his feet. My deepest condolences are with the bereaved families. I pray for the speedy recovery of the injured.”

Rajgarh’s SDM Gulab Singh Baghel described the accident as heart-wrenching, confirming that out of those brought to the district hospital, 13 had been declared dead. The remaining injured are being treated in hospitals in Bhopal and Rajgarh.
