“We received a call at 4.24 pm regarding the fire in four coaches of the Taj Express train. Eight fire tenders were pressed into service and efforts to douse the blaze are underway,” a DFS official stated.
Evacuation and Safety Measures
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Railways) confirmed that no casualties were reported during the incident. All passengers inside the affected coaches were evacuated in a timely manner and shifted to a safe place. The DCP noted, “On June 3, a PCR call at 4.41 pm was received regarding fire in a train at Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station. The investigating officer reached the spot near Apollo hospital.”

On-Site Situation
The police team, upon arriving at the scene, found the fire engulfing four coaches of the train. The train was stopped, and passengers were quickly moved to other coaches. The DCP further added, “Following the fire that broke out on the train, it was stopped. No one was injured as the passengers deboarded the coaches and moved to the other coaches. Further, action is being taken by the Railways.”
