Blast in Pakistan’s Hyderabad Claims 12 Lives

A tragic incident occurred in Hyderabad, Pakistan, where a blast at a liquid petroleum gas (LPG) cylinder filling shop resulted in the deaths of 12 people.

ISLAMABAD: A tragic explosion at a liquid petroleum gas (LPG) cylinder filling shop in Hyderabad’s Preetabad area has resulted in the death of 12 people, with two more injured individuals succumbing to their injuries on Monday, according to ARY News.

Incident Details:
The blast occurred at an LPG cylinder filling shop located on the ground floor of Zacha Bacha Hospital along Mir Nabi Bux Town Road in UC-8, Neerunkot. The explosion has left a significant number of casualties and severe injuries among the residents and workers in the vicinity.

Casualties and Injuries:

  • Deaths: 12 people have died as a result of the blast.
  • Injuries: At least 60 individuals, mostly youngsters, sustained major burn injuries. They were initially treated at Liaquat University Hospital (LUH) before being transported to Karachi for further care.
  • Current Treatment: The Karachi Civil Hospital is currently treating 11 injured people, with seven reported to be in critical condition.

Government Response:
Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, along with other ministers, visited the Burns Ward to check on the injured individuals and assess their health conditions. The local government and hospital authorities are providing necessary support and medical care to the victims.

Further Investigation:
Authorities are continuing their investigation to determine the exact cause of the explosion and ensure that necessary safety measures are enforced to prevent such incidents in the future.

This tragic event underscores the importance of stringent safety protocols in places dealing with hazardous materials, especially in densely populated areas. The community and authorities are working together to support the victims and their families during this difficult time.
