Jaipur, Rajasthan – In a startling development, former Rajasthan minister Vishvendra Singh has accused his wife, Divya Singh, and son, Anirudh Singh, of severe mistreatment, including physical assault, starvation, and eviction from his home. The 62-year-old former Cabinet minister has filed a petition with the Sub Divisional Magistrate under the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007, demanding a maintenance amount of Rs 5 lakh per month and the removal of his wife and son from his properties.
Allegations of Abuse and Neglect
Vishvendra Singh, who served in the previous Ashok Gehlot government, claims that his wife and son have subjected him to a “rebellious attitude” for the past few years. He alleges that they tore his clothes, destroyed important documents, and restricted his access to food and essential items. According to Singh, they also prevented him from meeting people and confined him to a single room in an attempt to seize his property.
Singh, a heart patient with two stents, stated in his petition that he contracted COVID-19 twice, in 2021 and 2022, and received no physical, mental, or financial support from his family during these times. He further alleges that his wife and son attempted to drive him to suicide to take over his properties.
Response from Divya and Anirudh Singh
Divya Singh and Anirudh Singh have dismissed Vishvendra’s allegations as false. They claim that Vishvendra has sold off most of their properties, leaving only Moti Mahal, their ancestral home, which they are determined to protect.

Divya Singh, speaking at a press conference with Anirudh, stated, “If I open my mouth about what has happened to me in the past 30 years, then maybe the case will reach the Supreme Court.” She defended her son’s actions, saying he is protecting his mother from injustice.
Anirudh Singh echoed his mother’s sentiments on social media, vowing to save Moti Mahal and its compound from being sold. He expressed confidence in the SDM Court to handle the matter fairly.
Historical Family Feud
The friction within the Singh family, which descends from the royal family of Bharatpur, is not new. Anirudh Singh previously accused his father of violence, debt accumulation, and destructive behavior towards family businesses in a social media post from May 2021.
Conclusion
The case, now in court, highlights the complex and painful dynamics within the Singh family. As legal proceedings continue, the truth behind the allegations and counterclaims will be scrutinized, shedding light on the contentious relationships and the fight over ancestral properties.
